True Skate Analysis

Decent Essays
True Skate opens by taking the client through a short instructional exercise, indicating players the fundamentals of moving around, moving the board and idealizing the craft of "ollieing" - essentially, striking the tail of the board against the ground to inspire it to skip into the air while riding it.

Moving around and doing traps feels instinctive and characteristic. Just swipe along the ground to push ahead, then swipe left or right to control the board in those bearings. Swipe in reverse to tilt the board until the tail pops off the ground, then tap forward to level it out, much the same as doing an ollie on a genuine board. It's straightforward, however takes a considerable measure of practice to culminate the aptitude.

Slide Board Product Information The first slide board was designed by Former Miami Dolphins football player Jeff Markland and his initial purpose was to use in the rehabilitation of injured knee joints (Lloyd, 1992). Markland created his own model, and called it Kneedspeed, after having seen Eric Heiden, a gold medal speed skater in the Olympiads using a similar product (Lloyd, 1992). Then, Markland associated with Kathy Stevens of Reebok and they developed the Reebok slide board (Lloyd, 1992). In the 1990s, slide board came into the fitness field which also is called lateral slide training, but it did not gain much popularity; because the lateral sliding movements seemed unnatural if you lack the inner thigh strength to boost your bodies across the board (Lloyd, 1992).…

The piece starts out on a half-pipe the quintessential image you think of when you think of skate boarders. All the writings and the statements are put onto the half-pipe, and painted onto boards with different shapes, and every one is so individual to the one who made it. Many of the phrases are like the stereotypes associated with skaters, non-conformists, rebellious youth, and problems with authority. The overall artwork does not try to be pretty, some of the handwriting is messy and hard to read, words do not fit perfectly onto the boards, and the artists used strong authoritative words to describe what they wanted. The messages seem to apply to a variety of different sources.…
