True Power Monologue

It was then I felt my true power surge through me. I should back up a little in time and tell you how I got to this point. It all started right before I woke up. I met someone who changed my life.
The darkness felt dreadful like a thousand deaths. Almost the same as a never ending cave. I couldn’t move or talk. I felt suffocated. My breathing was heavy and I could feel tears forming. Suddenly there was a dim light as it got closer, it got brighter until it was close enough to realize it was a person. The person was a girl that looked around my age. I was hoping we didn’t meet like this. My name is Henry and I’m your father. While we wait for your mother I’ll explain. Being the king and queen we needed a strong heir for the throne. The high council banished any girl heir. Which meant throwing you off a cliff we couldn’t do it. We fought the council saying you were the first born with two dates instead of one. The dates if you didnt noticed are on your arm. They are our death date. You my dear have two. One was the day before you came in the hospital. My own theory is that you died and came back. Anyway we fought the council saying you were strong enough. We would have started a war over you, and the council knew that. They made a deal with us. That they would take you and hide you away as a somewhat normal. You're known as the long lost princess. The reason everyone knew about you is because soon after the queen got sick and lost the ability to conceive another child. You are the last heir. The thing is when we gave you to the council one took you as his and his wife’s own but you were taken. They hid you away in a small town. We have been searching since you turned five. When we found them they told us somethings about you and what they did. You don’t remember anything do

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, we're all accustomed to a certain standard, or stereotype that needs to be played. Whether it's being captain of the cheerleading team or the smartest kid in your class, it's one way or another that's there's going to be someone who's supposed to follow by these stereotypes or standards just for the sole fact that that's them. Unfortunately for me, it couldn't get any worse, since being an African American female who unfortunately does not fit your typical, "angry black woman." Yes, that "angry black woman", bitter, closed-off, unarticulated, with serious father issues.…

It was last period, and I didn’t think my day could get worse, until I was told to pick up my stuff and go to the office. At first I was glad because I thought I was getting signed out, but when I got there, neither of my parents were in sight. What worried me even more was that all of the ladies in the office had horrible pitiful looks on their faces.…
