I will always believe in true love no matter how many times I have my heart broken. I go into a relationships telling myself I won’t fall in love, but I do it anyway. The power love has on people is highly underestimated. You can’t help who you fall in love with, so I don’t know why anyone tries to force or deny love. There is a delicate balance of cynicism and trust that can only be achieved through true love.
If you have ever been in love, you know it is the most intoxicating, gratifying, confusing, frustrated state of being ever. You find yourself turning into someone you’re not, just to please someone who you hope feels the same way about you as you do about them. It’s not that I think Prince Charming will come riding up on a white horse to save me from my life of misery, but the kind of love that boasts unconditional acceptance. This love exists, I know it does, but I am one of those people who think I can force love. I think I can find any person and mold them into my fairy tale person. I love the way I want to be loved instead of loving the way they need to be loved because if I keep doing the things I love for them, they will notice and do them for me. This is the best way to be unsuccessful in love. I don’t pretend to be a perfect lover, if anything, I’m perfectly imperfect at loving anyone. I am a selfish person when it comes to love even though I think I’m generous and caring. Some days you’re going to want to give up, and the next day you’ll turn around and be so in love you couldn’t imagine your life without that person. Some relationships work and some don’t, but don’t carry your troubles of previous relationships into the new one or you will be sure to repeat history.
