They have each others backs, Lennie has George’s and George has Lennie’s, they look after each other, they make sure each other is protected. In every friendship there is going to be tears, and fights. In this part of the book George tells Lennie that if Lennie wasn’t around, he could have a girl, have a good job, and have a good job maybe even a nice house. Lennie starts to feel bad, but if you think about it this is true, George is telling Lennie the truth. Lennie doesn 't really know what to do or what to say he doesn’t know what is going on.
