True American Adeline Miller "Oh say can you see, by the star 's early lights," The National Anthem of the United States of America. Some say you 're not an American unless you were born and raised in the country. But if you live here for a certain amount of years you can be considered a true American. "The cost of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it. And one path we shall never choose, are that is the path of surrender, or submission."- John F. Kennedy. To me all it takes to be a true American is having faith in our country, having trust in our soldiers, and to be able to unite together after a tragic event. Initially, to be a true American you have to have faith in our country. You have to be able to believe that our government isn 't going to plummet to its despair. We have to believe that we make good decisions when electing a new president, governor, or mayor. You may not always agree with everything America does, but over all we usually make a good decision. For example, America chose Abraham Lincoln over Stephan Douglas and I think we made the correct choice with that one. Kennedy. Americans have always had wonderful things compared to the other countries around the world. We have a small enough population for the things we make and raise each year.
