An epic is a long poem that tells a story about a hero. Therefore, Troy is a wonderful example of an epic story because it demonstrates many heroic ideals. Likewise, several other points are introduced in order to prove that Troy follows the epic guidelines. For instance, the setting, the tone, and the overall plot assist in verifying Troy as an epic. Throughout the whole story, the characters display countless heroic ideals. Loyalty is shown in the story when Hector willingly fights numerous battles to protect his family and his people. On the other hand, Achilles engages himself in the action to earn glory and fame. Additionally, he is fortunate enough to obtain “superhuman” powers - he cannot die unless damage is done to his Achilles
