A tropical rainforest is a hot and typically moist biome found near the earth’s equator. The warmth and moisture makes the tropical rainforest very suitable for many plants and animals. Therefore, it is no surprise to find that the tropical rainforest is home to over 15 million species of plants and animals within this biome. Some of the animals that are living in tropical rainforests include, the African forest elephant, the Bengal tiger, and the Chimpanzee. Some of the plants that the tropical rainforest is home to include, Bengal Bamboo, The coconut tree, and Jambu.

Tropical rainforests receive 60 to 160 inches of precipitation that is evenly distributed throughout the year. Due to the moisture and rainfall in a tropical rainforest, the temperature rarely gets higher than 93 degrees fahrenheit or drops below 68 degrees fahrenheit. The average humidity in a tropical rainforest is between 77 and 88 percent. The rainforests receive more than 100 inches of rainfall a year, so the plantlife had to adapt to receiving a lot of water. Some of the plants learned to shed off water from their leaves so they would not break. Other plants that are growing there have oily coatings, or a drip tip to help them shed off water. Over 2,500 vines grow in the rainforest, the vines grow from one tree to another and make up 40 percent of the canopy leaves. Some vines have spikes that help them latch onto other trees so they can wrap around and absorb all the light from its host. …show more content…
