Lora Baines (Cindy Morgan), and together they will try to stop the illegal activity the ENCOM’s MCP is doing. While Flynn hacks into the computer system at ENCOM, he is discovered by the MCP, and is zapped by a special laser that digitizes him. The vengeful MCP abducts Flynn into ENCOM mainframe; he is trapped inside a 3-D digital world, a vast, vibrant, virtual landscape he cannot escape from. While in a holding cell, Flynn meets programs Tron (Bruce Boxleitner) and Ram (Dan Shor). Ruthless, senior program named Sark (David Warner), is ordered by the MCP to force Flynn into playing in the gladiatorial games, and then kill him. However, Flynn is a “user” and is a master at computer games; he promptly escapes on light cycles with Tron and Ram. They ban together too stop the tyrannical MCP and free the digital citizens (programs) from slavery. Sark sends out the gigantic recognizers (large security machines) and battle tanks to hunt and destroy them. In the pursuit, Ram is killed, and Flynn is separated from Tron, who assumes both are dead. Devastated, Tron, the heroic security program, continues alone, and gains the help from a female program named Yori (Cindy Morgan) to communicate with his user (Alan Bradley). Meanwhile, Flynn realizes he has somewhat “super powers” in this virtual world as a user, and he use them to get closer to the MCP. Simultaneously, Tron, Yori, and Flynn hop aboard a Solar Sailer simulation vehicle attempting to reach the MCP. But Flynn and Yori are captured by Sark’s pursuing command ship; however, Tron is able to reach the base of the MCP. Sark is waiting for him, he battles Tron, but Tron swiftly kills
