Most believed this war was fictional, and was just a myth of the Greeks but I'm here to provide lots of proof that indeed it did take place. The Greeks had won a lot of important battles but they just could not break down the walls of Troy. Then there was a wooden horse ordered by Odysseus, to be built to gain entrance into Troy. It was such a clever idea and Odysseus thought it would be safe and would bring luck to the Trojans. It was made hollow so that soldiers could hide inside of it. A number of Greek warriors hid inside of it along with Odysseus and then exited out of it and slaughtered the Trojans. Now you're probably wondering, who's Odysseus? Odysseus is the husband of Queen Penelope and father of Prince Telemachus. Odysseus also fought with the Greek heroes against Troy. But more importantly Odysseus played the Hero of Homer's poem, "Iliad." Which brings me to the primary source of it all. It's said that the content of the "Iliad" was accounted for fifty days in the last year of The Trojan War. It enlightens people on all of the events that took place between King Agamemnon and warriors of Achilles. Although he only talked about the final weeks during the last year of the war, he conveyed a perfect picture to the Greek legends about the siege. Including the cause of the war, early events, and the gathering of the warriors for the siege. The narrative also prophesied the future. There is bias detected because it has been an argument relating the historical aspect versus the likelihood of Homer's Iliad. Historians have debated about Homer's stories, and weather they are true or not and if the truth was in fact fabricated. Prehistorians have discovered evidence that suggest that "The Iliad has some basis of truth and that Trojan War actually occurred, it may not have occurred in the exact manner in which Homer portrays "(Wood). Therefore, the facts behind the this tale and the originality of the author of The Iliad, the mystery
