Trodden Black Thesis

Decent Essays
The speaker does not forge his own path though showing that he is not the only one to take the more potentially difficult path, but states, “in leaves no step had trodden black” which shows that no one had chosen either path before him leaving the decision to himself without the opinion of others who have traveled before him. Because no other new path is formed, the reader can make the conclusion that the speaker will not endure struggles that have not been endured previously in the same manner, for example, losing children or struggling financially.

Similarly Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken" parallels the concept of gaining wisdom through conflict by portraying a protagonist who has trouble with the choices he has made about his future. The speaker of the poem who is travelling comes to a fork in the road and has to choose one of the paths to follow. This symbolises the journey of life and the decisions we are forced make on our journey. The first line of the poem " Two roads diverged in a yellow wood" tells us that the speaker has to make a decision walk down one of these roads leaving the other behind.…

Thoroughly exploring the site, I found that to provide an insightful essay would require reading at least the first and last section from each part. In the section titled, “From Indentured Servitude to Racial Slavery,” to the section, “The Civil War,” in part four, I noticed that the treatment and desire for slaves were solely driven by fortune. It is truly saddening that families were torn apart over materialistic things. Parts two and three were exceptionally inspiring due to certain historical figures finally standing up to the cruel injustice.…

The Road Not Taken talks about the decisions people have to make throughout their life’s inner journey and where these decisions will lead them. As written in Stanza Two “Then took the other, as just as fair, and having perhaps the better claim”, Robert Frost is expressing that these options we have in life and the decisions we make are not easy to do and at times it may be stressful and confusing but to continue on with our life’s inner journey we must make a decision. Although at the time we may have chosen the wrong pathway or road but we should always be optimistic as the future holds great experiences and surprises for us. We can see this concept through Julie in the novel “Cosi”, she experienced rough patches throughout her life which put her away in a mental illness hospital but through time and hard work she managed to fix her life and get herself back on track for the rest of her life’s inner…

Black history month is celebrate not only in United States but also in Canada and England. Black history is celebrated with the success of African Americans in being able to reform society, fighting for equality, making and reforming music, and activists who put their own life on the line to get the equality not only for African-Americans but other minority races as well. One of my personal heroes from African American descent that is associated with black history month is Martin Luther king Jr. because he fought for equality of all people of color which during his time was something extremely dangerous to do and he stood up for what he believed was right. Martin Luther King fought for equality of all people of color.…

There are many concepts discussed within Dr. Maulana Karenga’s book Introduction to Black Studies, but I will be thoroughly discussing Black Studies as a discipline, Black Liberation Theology, Black Womanist Theology, Religious Thrusts, the wealth and income and its influence on political empowerment, the reversal of ghettoization problem, economic and political empowerment of African Americans, Black on Black crime, Post-Traumatic Slave Syndrome, and Psychopathic Personality (2010). As Peter Drucker once said, “Making good decisions is a crucial skill at every level.” This quote means if one makes a decision they believe is right, it will have a great importance in the task they are dealing with at the moment. Decisions are what people are faced with every single day of their lives. Decisions can have a small amount of importance, and some are decisions where they can change one’s life. For example, a simple decision does not have a great importance, but there are decisions that have a major impact on one’s life and must choose wisely.…
