With the advent of prints, reproductions, engraving reliefs etc and the ability to manufacture more art with consistent results lead to a domestication in art that was never seen before. The wallpaper painting embodies a common form of domestic art. With domestic art on the rise from the mid-19th century forward artists were able to commodify there pieces in annual magazines through manufacturing a sense of scarcity surrounding there works. In No. 22, Pollock employed his usual manner of pouring and dripping paints on canvas. As Chave pointed out in her essay, “there is no center in his paintings, no one area predominating over others ”(106).…

Portrait of Queen Elizabeth 1 A1: Queen Elizabeth 1 stands proud on the globe like she has conquered the world. On the background there is sunshine on her right hand, but darkness and lightning on her left. Each side has what appears to be descriptive words for each side, however, I am unable to make out or understand the meaning. I see this as an indication that there are two sides to her personality, a bright side and a dark side. Her dress is fully adorned with what appears to be pearl, ruby, and onyx gems.…

Some graffiti a person would see would be beautiful, or it can be as simple as someone's initials or a name of some sort. But what someone fails to realize about graffiti is that it is someone's way of expressing themselves through this technique and form of art which causes the viewers to be curious, cautious, and judgemental towards it. Graffiti is a form of art because it takes time to plan out everything needed to create the masterpiece and it also helps to decorate the poor, decaying areas of cities and neighborhoods. Representing War Through the Eyes of Neoclassicism and Romanticism Jacques-Louis David’s , Oath of the Horatii was painted in 1784 during the Neoclassical era. The Neoclassical era, was a revival of classicism in French art. David uses soft brushstrokes, color contrast, and stylization to represent the pro-revolutionary attitude of the French during the Neoclassical era.
