The bus to pick us up arrived finally around at noon. It was about a 45-minute drive from our hotel to Stuart’s Cove, where we would be going snuba diving. Snuba diving is a mix of snorkeling and scuba diving. Instead of wearing an air tank on your back like in scuba diving, your air tank floats at the top on a raft and unlike snorkeling, you can swim freely as far down as your air tubes will allow you. The air was moist and hot and the water was rushing out from under the boat as it sped out into the ocean to our first location. Our instructor helped us pick out fins and put on our weight belts. Weight belts have to be worn to help you stay under the water. We were joined in the water by two other men. When we were prompted to by our instructor, we jumped in the water. It was a little difficult practicing to breath under water with the air tank, in your mouth and out through your nose. But, once we got the hang of it, we started our underwater adventure.
The fish in the ocean were amazing! They swam around us as if we belonged there. The ocean felt like a giant bathtub. Our air tubes allowed us to go down 22 feet which means we couldn’t quite touch the bottom but we were close enough since we were still close to the reef. The plants floated from the bottom like majestic creatures. We were in the water for about 30 minutes before our instructor waved to us it was time to go. We then made our way back to the boat to head back to shore. After that, we hopped back on the bus to take us back to our
