My family had arrived a day early to make sure we didn’t miss our cruise. I hung out by the pool while some shopped, everyone kind of did their own thing. Everyone was anxiously waiting to board the ship in the morning.
I had 6 of my closest friends and their families from high school accompany me on this cruise along with my family. The setting of this story takes place in the lobby of the hotel. We knew something was up, seemed like the staff was acting strange. The problem now is we were told our cruise has been delayed for 11 hours. We were told that the cruise ship that was headed to Port Caravel to get us had to be turned around and go to Grand Turk because a passenger had suffered a heart attack and passed away. That is where you had to wait in line to check in. The shuttle dropped us off at the front door of a very small building. We were told to wait in a room assigned to our cruise ship the Valor. It looked to have limited chairs, defiantly not enough for everyone coming from the hotel. A lot of the kids just sat on the floor and started playing cards to help pass the time. I struck up a conversion with an older gentleman that was sitting by me. It looked as though he might have wanted to join in. I leaned over and ask him what he thought about the ship being delayed. The gentlemen’s response was “life 's too short to worry about the small stuff, so make the most of it.” Which we were doing by playing cards. I have to say sitting around for hours wasn’t that fun. But sitting around with my friends was fun and we were making good
