“Trinity Industries Inc is a diversified industrial company. The Company owns businesses providing products & services to the to the energy, transportation, chemical, and construction sectors” (Trinity Industries Inc, 2017). Trinity Industries came to be in 1958 when two propane tank companies, Trinity Steel and Dallas Tank Company both founded in 1933, were having hard times and decided to merge. Trinity Industries was led by W Ray Wallace for forty years and under his control it was turned into a successful “$2.4 billion provider of diversified products and services to the industrial, energy, transportation, and construction sectors.” (Schultze, U, 2011).

For Trinity Industries Inc’s executives and management loyalty seems to be a common theme. The CEO, President and Chairman of the Board Timothy Wallace has been employed since 1976 but in this role since 1998. He took over from his father who held the leader rank for forty years. The Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President James Perry has been employed with Trinity Industries since 2004 and in his present role since 2011. Mary Henderson who is the companies Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer has been with the company since 2009. Melendy Lovett is the Chief Administration Officer and Senior Vice President and she has been employed with the company since 2014. Many of the company’s leadership team has a long tenure of working with the company for years and rising through the ranks to guide the company forward. Knowing how the company operates and longevity helps the team make the right strategic decisions and will help them continue to move this company in a positive
