They will then need to create a plan to fill future needs and check this plan to make sure it is effective. Monitoring retention, employee turnover, and recruitment are key factors to discuss the Physician and nursing shortage that will be impacting the hospital.

Once the hospital has identified and planned on staffing areas to focus on, they should check the progress of the staffing plan and make changes as necessary.
