After the completion of the community needs assessment at Trinity Community Hospital, it was identified that there would be a 46% increase in the communities demand for orthopedic intervention over the span of the next 5 years. This assessment also identified a 30% rise in the number of inpatient spine and joint procedures, and a 350% increase in the number of outpatient spine and joint procedures that the community will demand. After careful review of Trinity Community Hospitals fact sheet, there is no evidence that mentions that there is no orthopedic service already existing, but there is a great deal of interest among some of the communities orthopedic practices who would like to practice at this facility in order to better serve the members

After the law was enacted, Medicaid will cover individuals apart of the population within 133% of the federal poverty level, and children will be eligible for Medicaid coverage who are apart of the population within the 133% of the federal poverty level, and increase from 100%. This allows for the expansion of the outreach of benefits to citizens making more money at the state level. However, individuals receiving healthcare coverage through the Medicaid program are ineligible to receive coverage through the health insurance benefits exchange. This allows for hospitals to increase its number of admissions, and in the same regard decrease the number of services provided without pay to uninsured patients within the community. Due to this new level of operation, patients in the community who hold medical coverage are able to seek the care they need with ease regardless of the type of service needed to obtain it. Spinal injuries can be solved with thoracic surgery and general surgical services, and a referral to the orthopedic program can aid in the rehabilitation from these procedures. The radiology program that Trinity Community Hospital is able to offer to support the orthopedic service line boasts a collection of advanced equipment such as X-ray equipment, CT scanning equipment, and MRI equipment.
