Trinity Child Care Center Observation

Description of the School For this assignment, we were required to spend a certain amount of time observing a school within the local area. Specifically, I observed the Trinity Child Care Center, which is affiliated under the Saint Joseph’s Center. Trinity Child Care Center is located at 2013 Boulevard Avenue in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The locality of the center is set within a neighborhood that is close in proximity to the Saint Joseph’s Center. Primarily, this establishment serves children who have special needs. The Trinity Child Care Center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center. In fact, Trinity does not cost families anything, as long as they have gained approval from Medicaid. Moreover, Trinity strives to assist families who are caring for their children, who are medically fragile or depend on certain means to live out their lives. Entering the classroom, each entrance and exit consisted of a child-lock gate to restrict the mobile children from leaving the room to ensure their safety. This room was located in the middle of the facility, adjacent to the room that is used for the children who are immobile. Within the room, the walls were painted with aquarium creatures, which adhered to the children’s interest as well as even capturing my attention. Included in the room were five cribs that are used for naptime, a changing table, and rocking chairs. Moreover, the condition of the room was messy and unorganized, however this is understandable due to the children continuously playing. Not to mention, the room was filled with a variety of toys including books, a small ball pit, rattles, a rollercoaster bead table, pop-up toys, a jumper, cradle swing, and much
