This article follows Claire Sterk on her journey into the world of prostitution and more specifically the females experience. She wishes to understand the prostitutes perspective by looking into their lives, how they found themselves in the vocation, and how drug use is linked into it. Sterk uses great control over almost all ethnocentric feelings she may have, she does lack major attempts to explain the pimps interactions with the prostitutes which cuts out a large portion of prostitute culture.
