Actually I started to swim quite late in my childhood, I was about 12 years old at that time. But three years ago I realized that I would like to participate in a triathlon competition, but what prevented me to finish the race was swimming. Afterwards I started to train and would say that I`m in a very good condition now.

Last year I participated in my first long-distance triathlon – Ironman . It is one of the most difficult sporting events in the world and I managed to finish the race. Once again I reached best personal result in swimming while the rest… nothing special . Well I wasn’t the last one in the competition, my result was amongst the best 30% of all participants, which was more than expected. I was planning to participate also this year, but didn`t manage to organize everything in time. Woke up too late when it was too hard to manage everything in time. But next year for sure I will try to participate in Ironman once again.
Ironman happens all across the Europe, in which country did you participate?
Last year it took place in Croatia. It`s very interesting that for the race Ironman team pick up very nice places. It`s good from tourist point of view and it is almost like a holiday. Anyway tomorrow I have the last triathlon this season in Romania and it will be on Olympic distance.
Will the distance be the same length as in the Olympics?
Yes, it means 1.5 km swimming, 40 km biking and 10 km running.
Good luck! In how many competitions have you participated in total?
Around

The Lesson in Quitting For the past 7 years of my life, swimming has played a huge role. Growing up, I had always enjoyed being in the water, and was one of the odd kids that genuinely enjoyed swimming lessons, no bribes required (thinking about it, I wish I had some of those kids in the lessons I teach now). Overtime, it began to feel less like a passion and more like an obligation; something I had committed to that was too late to stop. I was afraid to quit, afraid to disappoint, and trying to be dedicated to a sport I had lost interest in made me start to hate it. This year, I finally decided to drop the sport, and am now embracing the huge change it has had in my life.…
