There are a lot of things that need to be taken into consideration when making a documentary film. One common issue that arises with documentary filmmaking is ethical issues. When people go to see documentaries, they are usually looking to be informed on some kind of topic, but some filmmakers might not use the most ethical approach to achieve that goal. Documentaries can “stand for or represent the views of individuals, groups, and institutions” (Nichols, 45). This can lead to issues later, because if a filmmaker’s documentary shows a person in a different light then the way they see themselves, they are not going to be too happy.…

Over the course of Dramatic Literature, we read and explored many important issues through literature. A moment that I found particularly powerful is when we read The Laramie Project and created interviews on the truth in drama through the production of our own documentary theater. My group conducted an interview on the question: is it okay for guys to sleep around, but not girls? In conducting the interview, the responses we got were overall the same. Many of the people we interviewed responded that it’s not okay for guys to sleep around, but not girls.…

Kincaid: Respond to the ideas in “Exploratory Writing,” p. 503 Christopher Columbus was the one who "discover of the island", and Annie knew that island was her home. I think she knows really clearly that she came from the slaves: "but we, the descendants of the slaves,' because her ancestors had gone from Africa. Of course Annie has her own view about Christopher, and I absolutely understand why does she wrote: "The Great Man Can No Longer Just Get Up and Go. " I feel bad about the teaching system at this time, they let "the girl who scored lowest was made to wear the dunce cap all day," or the way that Annie's teacher treat her is so terrible when she write her own thinking.…

The role of a documentarian is to tell a story contained of important tales in the world where the truths that they want to tell are either ignored or hidden. By producing their film, documentarians owe their viewers the justification of the manipulation of individual facts, sequences and meanings of not only the images, but the stories they have been told. Documentarians also owe their viewers the accuracy and integrity of their work. I don't think that documentarians can give the public their own interpretation of the events because they could threaten the credibility of the final product. Documentarians also could not give their own interpretations of the events because they would not be able to properly license the footage…
