Someone once said, “It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.” SpongeBob has committed the murder of Mr. Krabs. In “The Trial of SpongeBob Squarepants”, it can be concluded that Mr. SquarePants is guilty of the murder of Mr. Krabs due to evidence of: victim injuries, murder weapons, SpongeBob having access to the Krusty Krab restaurant and tools, a motive, and a witness. SpongeBob SquarePants committed first degree or capital murder (planned murder). This can be seen when Mr. Krabs throat was cut with blunt-force trauma to the back of the head in which the weapon was concluded to be a spatula and when the Krusty Krab restaurant's …show more content…
This can be seen when a second spatula with Eugene Harold Krabs’ blood and fingerprints was found along with the sponge’s fingerprints on it and when it was discovered that SpongeBob was the only one other than Armor Abs Krabs who had the keys to the Krusty Krab and knew the combination to the safe. According to suspect evidence, “Inside SpongeBob’s home, investigators found a spatula with traces of Mr. Krabs’s blood on it. The spatula handle had SpongeBob’s fingerprints, as well as Mr. Krabs’s” (12). Mr. SquarePants owns a spatula. His spatula was covered in Armor Abs Krabs’ fingerprints and blood as well as his own fingerprints. Why would someone who’s innocent hide evidence at his or her house? He/she wouldn’t hide the evidence. “Mr. Innocent” hid the evidence at his house in order to avoid getting caught. Therefore “Mr. Innocent” is not so innocent and is the killer himself. According to suspect evidence, “SpongeBob was the only person other than Mr. Krabs who had keys to the restaurant and knew the combination to the safe” (15). The suspect needed money. The only way for him to get the money he needed was to use the keys to get into the Krusty Krab and unlock the safe as Mr. Krabs was not willing to give out. This can be seen when Mr. SquarePants gets denied a raise and tells Patrick “words of revenge” towards the victim and when a witness (Mr. Tentacles) goes to the Krusty Krabs hours before the death of Eugene Harold Krabs. According to witness testimony evidence, “SpongeBob asked Mr. Krabs for a raise. Mr. Krabs denied him.” and the sponge told Patrick “He’s going to wish he’d given me a raise” (17-18). SpongeBob SquarePants needed a raise to avoid the bank confiscating his pineapple house. He was denied the raise and was angry due to this. Mr. Squarepants, therefore, had a motive. The suspect threatened the quarry (victim), basically saying that the quarry is going to wish he never said no to his request. Therefore, Spongebob Squarepants is the vicious, cold-blooded, quintessential (perfect example of something) murderer. According to witness testimony evidence, “ Squidward saw SpongeBob enter the Krusty Krab restaurant two hours before Mr. Krabs was found dead. An hour later, he heard Mr. Krabs screaming loudly. After waiting a while, Squidward went in to investigate, and that’s when he found the dead body” (20). The witness saw the sponge enter the Krusty Krab two hours before the krab’s death. He heard the krab screaming so he went in to investigate. Who could’ve been the assassin other than SpongeBob SquarePants? Nobody because there was no one else in the restaurant except for him and the quarry.
