If I had the chance to hang out with Trevor Noah, I would. Since he’s the host of The Daily Show, I already knew that he was a funny and smart person. It was because of the show that I was even inclined to read his book in the first place. However, instead of telling a rags-to-riches kind of story like most celebrities, Noah barely mentions his career at all, choosing only to focus on his humble South African background. This decision alone reveals what he is like as a person -- grounded, down-to-earth, and appreciative of everything he has ever had in his life. As a poor mixed kid in post-apartheid South Africa, where race and class play an especially critical role in society, Trevor Noah had an extremely difficult and confusing childhood.
