Trentdon's Behavior: Case Study

Focus: Trentdon will express his feeling in an appropriate manner.
Intervention: CSP discussed the youth’s feelings of new foster placement. CSP asked the youth to express his feeling of adjusting to the new home. CSP explained purpose of current and future visits. CSP encouraged Trentdon to display his best behavior at all times. CSP discussed the youth’s coping skills when frustrated or angry.
Response: Trentdon explained he has adjusted to the home and does not like expressing his feelings. The youth expressed he likes school and the teachers seem nice. He summarized the reason for my visit in his own words to show understanding. There were questions asked by the youth and he agreed to try his best to have three good days out of seven.
