Before World War I could officially end, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and the United States joined forces once again to create a treaty that would establish peace among European countries. This agreement is known as the treaty of Versailles. In the document, a league of nations was formed to prevent future wars and a country was found guilty of the war’s outcome. The treaty of Versailles was not efficient because it did not give Germany self-determination, weakened Europe’s economy, and in the end did not do its primary job at maintaining peace.
