The story took place on February 2012 when 17 year old Travon Martin decided after a week of being suspended from school that one day he wanted to go the nearest corner store to grab a little snack that consisted for an Arizona tea and a bag of Skittles. During this time George Zimmerman called 911 to report suspicious behavior and was reported to stay and his car and not to approach the suspicious person. Moments later Zimmerman shot Travon Martin in what he claims as self-defense as Zimmerman had bruises. Travon father Tracy Martin on February 27 filed a missing person report to later have to identify a body is Travon’s. This lead to a movement of events that later during March 13, 2013 Zimmerman was accused of manslaughter, and sentenced later as second-degree manslaughter during July 2013. The communities responded to Martin’s death that hit the African American community a series of rallies, marches and protest that were held across the nation like high school students did a school walk out to honor Martin’s death by teachers refusing to talk about the death of Travon Martin. These events were the starting point for the Black Lives matter movement and has supported crimes against those of color and stand up for justice that for those that have fallen due to unjustified actions that are one and one of the major issues that is focused on within 2013, and that falls under being under privilege due to
