As an actor I know there’s more rejection being done than receiving callbacks. How do you deal with rejection?

Travis

I don’t let rejection affect me. Rejection is something you have to get used to. You have to believe that you are at least better than the average person as an artist. It’s a cold business and rejection is something you’ll run into all the time. I believe if you like yourself rejection doesn’t really matter.

It balances me and it clears my head. I don’t want to forget that this life is a game we play and like any game you may not like it but the real world is hard, especially for a spiritual conscious person. Meditation is a reminder that there’s a bigger purpose, there’s more than making money, going to work and being selfish.

You mentioned you were single, what attracts you in a woman?

Travis

Now that I’m older the most important thing is initial attraction. A woman more elevated spiritually and mentally, a connection is very important and I can usually feel it instantly. I don’t like this whole thing of having to prove anything or girls who need the wrong type of attention.

Adieny

You being very spiritual, what are your thoughts on soul mates? Do you believe in soul mates?

Travis

Yes. I believe that you can be soul mates with anyone with a soul. If we all come from one place than we all belong to each other. Sometimes its not the right time but you can always tell a soul mate from the connection in the eyes. I don’t think a soul mate is just romantically as people think; it can be with a friend, your mother or even a stranger.

The answer is that it completely depends on the person. Before, my own strong desire to find that special someone validated by American culture’s strong view on love pushed me to believe that most, if not all, people wanted to eventually find their “soul mate.” From interviewing Janette and reading what Knox had to say about singlehood, I learned that being single can be something appreciated and even desired by someone, even when said person is at an older age. Eventually getting married is altogether not a dream everyone has. Marriage is a common goal for those who want someone to depend on or to share their life with.…

Does a Perfect Partner Truly Exist? Is everyone looking for a perfect partner? In June Callwood’s essay “Forget Prince Charming”, Callwood suggests that she does not believe a perfect partner exists. A relationship will never be perfect, since no two humans can interact frictionlessly (Callwood 322). Although “Forget Prince Charming” appeared in the National Post in 2000, it is still relevant in 2016.…

The cultural clashes amongst the people of the Hmong and Westered based society of America about health care is a clash of ideologies and ethnocentrism. A refusal to find middle ground and a general misunderstanding of each other’s cultures. Each of these culture’s healing arts, be that biomedicine of America or the traditional healings of the Hmong, are working remedies that tackle the problems faced by healers and doctors with a unique understanding of one’s culture. Through the Hmong it is a spiritual and a truly holistic understanding of the body, while the American biomedicine divides things into parts, like a car. These two systems while approaching the same field with different understandings, can have similar results.…

Rejection is something we all face everyday whether it be from asking someone out, to asking our parents for money. We all come to deal with it in a variety of ways, some give up, and others are extremely persistent. Despite dealing with it everyday, we all fear it, and it can keep us from experiencing some of the most amazing journeys in life. In David Ives’, Sure Thing you can see that Billy is constantly rejected by Betty, but continuously restarts over, and keeps facing the rejection until he gets it right. Similarly, in my play No Thanks, Henry does not give up and keeps trying to sell Mary a vacuum despite her constant rejection.…

I believe strongly in optimism, because I know that there can ever be a revolutionary change in our society if we are pessimists, and have no hope for the world. I sincerely want for the world to change, and that is why I try to speak out about injustice that oppressed people endure whenever the time arises. I am a feminist and social justice advocate, because I think that supporting others and putting others first is the way to change our oppressive society. Fear is a component of ignorance frequently, because people often use fear to compensate for their lack of knowledge. Possessing love for others, even when it is unrequited, can help grow a better, kinder world and society.…

In John Perry’s “A Dialogue on Personal Identity and Immortality,” there are many arguments that discuss the criterion of personal identity. Within The First Night, Gretchen Weirob and Sam Miller begin to discuss the idea of an immaterial soul and its reasonability of existence, which is the main idea. Miller discusses the various reasons why an immaterial soul exists while Weirob argues its existence and eventually, its relevance. Throughout the dialogue, Miller introduces various theories to support the idea of an immaterial soul and its use of allowing the survival of a person after death. His main theory represents the principle of “Same body, same self” (Perry, 325) otherwise discussed as “same body, same soul.”…

In the movie I, Robot we are introduced to a long debated philosophical question: “What makes a human being human?”. Is the essence of mankind the fact that we are biologically unique among the myriad of different species on this planet? Is it the fact that we seem to have transcended our baser needs in order to try and make the world fit us as opposed to us fitting into the world around us? Is it perhaps that we have what people would call a “soul”? Or is it possibly that we were said to have either evolved from our animal counterparts, the primates, in order to be what we consider better?…
