Team BRAIN BLAST’s researched on Blast-induced Traumatic Brain Injury (BTBI), an injury to the brain caused by pressurized waves from bomb blasts. The team BLAST is interested in attaining the pressure propagation data by simulating the shock waves created by a pressure chamber, by letting them to pass through the artificially created human head. In addition to pressure data, they also measured and collected blast magnitude from the pressure chamber and heat maps outside of the designed human skull and correlated to determine the qualitative trends in the data.
