I was offered the only student volunteer position at Volunteers of Medicine of Southern Nevada, a medical volunteer clinic seeking integrate mental and behavioral health services. I created and administered a survey for patients assessing for depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, PTSD, and alcohol dependency. Using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder GAD-7, the Patient Stress Questionnaire PSQ-9, and the DSM-V criteria for diagnosing PTSD and alcohol dependency, I created an assessment tool that patients’ primary care physician now administer to assess patients’ mental health status. I accrued further experience through my undergraduate internship at The PRACTICE, a campus-based community mental health clinic. I gained valuable first hand experience observing and participating in multidisciplinary case rounds, attending didactic trainings covering a array of topics in psychology (see my CV for further information), and assisting with a variety of administrative tasks including patient scheduling and billing. At the end of my internship I presented a research project, a literature review about medical marijuana’s potential uses within the psychology profession. I am also working
