During my junior year of high school I suffered two concussions. After struggling physically and emotionally for months I was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury. During my recovery I worked with a neurologist, a neuropsychologist, and a physical therapist. In the process of my recovery I took an AP Psychology class in school. I found it particularly interesting learning about the brain while working to restore mine. I realized that if I worked in the psychology field I could use my experiences and acquired knowledge to help others recuperate. I hope to earn a bachelors degree in psychology, specializing in health studies, and go on to earn my masters in clinical psychology.
