The Allegory Of The Cave portrayed being trapped very well, the people were actually chained to a wall and didn’t want to leave the cave because it was all they knew even if what they thought was wrong they’d rather believe it was what is the truth. People can be shackled by their hate, which means that someone that has great hate towards someone or something can be hindered in their life because of them holding onto their hate and not trying to learn and forget the hate can lead to them not being able to learn and achieve more in their life. Another shackle that a person can have is them being afraid, for example in the story the prisoners were afraid of someone telling them that everything they have learned is wrong the cave dwellers would rather kill whoever tells them what they have learned is wrong. These are only some of the shackles of the mind.
