It is hard to distinquish what is true from what is not. Throughout middle school and high school different teachers say different things. Throughtout my writing I have always received mixed signals. Certain things such as always having transitions and five sentences per paragraph I assumed to be true. In high school my english teacher would drop our grade down two letter grades if transitions were not included in our essay. This experience was one that stuck with me. Personally, I believe certain paragraphs can be effective without transitions. Also, I believe that not every paragraoh needs five sentences.
