Change is an inevitable part of life. Regardless as to who you are or where you may live, everyone experiences changes in their lives. There are many different types of changes that we as humans must undergo in life, and while some may prove stimulating and beneficial, others can be difficult and require adjustment. Adults and children often confront many similar transitions during their lives: experiences such as forming new relationships, maturing, and many others. In addition, adults face some unique challenges like accommodating to novel work experiences, and children deal with some of their own changes like switching schools. Perhaps the greatest of transitions that people are ever subjected to, especially in childhood, is moving. When a family determines to relocate, the move often has many far-reaching effects, which can manifest themselves in nearly every aspect of the family members’ lives. Unless they only move a short distance, the parents will virtually always need to find new employment; besides that, the children will have to adapt to different schooling situations, and both the parents and the children must forge new friendships and learn to interact in …show more content…
Things that we may have taken for granted can suddenly be lost, and we can often find ourselves in entirely new settings, ones that we never before imagined to be in. All change has its difficulties involved, but change also ushers in new joys in life. While our family may have been geographically separated from many of our friends in South Carolina, all of us were much closer to family that we know and love out here but had never been able to see very much. Change often brings great benefits, as well as loss, and learning how to admit change and focus on its benefits is important.
