The criteria in which I will be evaluating both systems are as follows. Stability, as defined by how often the government is prone to change internally, and how prone the government is to collapse. In Option 1, if “the parliament issue a vote of no confidence, there must be a new government voted into office within 75 days. Should a new government fail to be confirmed within 75 days, a new parliamentary election must automatically be held.” (Tucker-Prompt) Meaning, if a vote of no confidence were to be successful, the people of Livonia could see insecurity for up to 75 days, whereas in Option 2, there “must be a “constructive vote of no confidence”, with a new government simultaneously proposed to replace the old government.” (Tucker-Prompt) This shows more stability in government, since in both cases the current government could disband, but in Option 2 another is simultaneously created.
