Transition To Adult

As a young child, we are told to follow the rules and to do as we are told Somehow, we think this is going to change as we get older, the truth is, not that much changes from childhood to adulthood. We start off young such as long naps, we nap like crazy and never seem to get enough sleep during the hours of the day.
We also tend to have a lot of fun whether it’s with our friends or family even at school. We play with our friends, day and sometimes at night and never get bored of seeing them. We then grow, and start to eat a lot way more than what our bodies can handle, but somehow, we manage to keep it in our system. And the days we don’t keep it in our system, we realized we messed up. The thing is that we are going to mess up as a child way more than we think. The fun part about being a child is that we learn from our mistakes. Being a child means, getting to learn new things and going through new experiences in your life, especially as we are transitioning from child to adult. As we grow or mature, we tend to focus on what our parents or people around us are doing, we especially look up to the people that do good. Somehow, we are each “attracted”, to different types of personalities, that will make us who we are later on in life.

And start to face hardships with different things. We’ve graduated from crying over not getting the gum at the store to crying because we don’t know if we will have to choose between feeding ourselves and feeding our children. Some adults maintain the childish behavior of arguing or getting angry over minute things, which other more mature adults look down on. However, instead of attempting to correct the person (like you would do a child) we have to let them show their asses to the wrong group of people who will say “Ew, aren’t you a little old to be doing that?” Now, granted the adult might get upset and offended...but they are going to think things over for the time

Play is essential for children’s lives; author Hanna Rosin’s article “The Overprotected Kid” demonstrates how parenting styles and fear have inhibited children’s play, harming their development. Places like “The Land” are attempting to make up for the missing element in children’s play by giving them the freedom to explore and make their own decisions, and in turn accept the natural consequences. The transition to adulthood creates many opportunities. Among them is one of the most important decisions a young person must make: whether to stay in their hometown, closer to family, or to move away and live in a new place. From my own experience, I would definitely support the latter option, since it is difficult to grow as a person unless you see more of the world. When I first finished school, I was faced with this choice, as most are. And although it would have been convenient to simply stay at home, I opted to move to Chinatown in New York City, where I then lived for a few years.…

If you ask most people, they will say that you reach adulthood at the age of 18. I believe that I started this transition at 16. Two months before my 16th birthday on a Saturday morning, my mom and I got into the car and she drove me around to the various stores, restaurants, and recreation centers where I told her I wouldn’t mind working. Before I left her in the car she told me that to get a job I must confidently walk up to the nearest employee and ask for the manager. I still had no idea what to do or to say; the whole morning was filled with sweaty hands and a red face.…
