Loving someone can turn one’s life upside down and this change can mean a transition from hate to love. Through the book Romeo and Juliet a love was formed between the two that started with hate between the families. An example is when Juliet says “ My only love sprung from my only hate!” (1.5.138). While announcing that she is upset after finding out that her dear Romeo is from the family she is meant to hate. Another example is “O dear account! My life is my Foe’s debt.” (1.5.17). Here Romeo states that his life is in his enemy’s hand because he has now fallen for Juliet. To summarize they found love while their parents only say hate.
Even though they walk two different paths they are willing to give up everything for love and to walk one path together. Love seems to come before all. The quote “Deny thy father and refuse thy name; or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my life, and I’ll no longer be a Capulet.” (2.2.31-36). In this quote Juliet is willing to give up her family and is also telling Romeo to do the same so they can be together. Bear hence this body, and attend our will. Mercy but murders, pardoning those that kill.” (3.2.190-193). In this quote Prince Escales banned Romeo from the town so he is unable to see Juliet. In the same sense the quote “Yea, noise? Then I’ll be brief. O happy dagger, [Taking Romeo’s dagger] This is thy sheath; [stabs herself ] there ruse, and let me die. [falls on Romeo’s body and died]. (5.3.169-171). Juliet was willing to give up her life for Romeo. She could have lived happily and found new love but she decides to die instead.
