Transition From School To The Workplace

Having listened to the Podcast presented titled “Navigating the Transition from School to the Workplace,” I have taken in a certain accountability as a student. The first lesson received from listening to the Podcast, is what Jeffery Selingo referred to as an expectancy to obtain a job once the college graduate has received a college degree. As Selingo described, most students, as well as parents, believe there is an obligatory job offering once they have received an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. This is definitely not the case when it comes to employers, who on average post ninety-four percent of jobs requiring a degree as well as a certain amount of experience. From learning this, I will seek for more experience-assisting positions such as internships, or apprenticeships. However, I do not feel helpless when I imagine searching for a job within the near future. I do not feel helpless because, as Kristen Hamilton emphasized, colleges and universities like Koru are moving towards assistance in locating available jobs for graduates within their establishments. With this available assistance, I feel more assured and relieved knowing that my experience in finding a job and entering the workforce will be much more secure and much less stressful.
