Aside from avoiding paying for public transportation, driving avoids all of the hassles along with public transportation such as a malfunctioning bus or train and/or constant stops. Although a car can also malfunction, this can easily be avoided by practicing good maintenance. In public transportation if something happens, it is acceptable to not do anything because it isn’t your job. On the other hand however you are expected to wait along with the other feisty and tired passengers. Phase 3: Packing
Get luggage or a suitcase that best fits your amount of travel. (small suitcase, for minimal days of travel, etc.).
Check the weather for the time planned on being home.
Pack essentials first (toothpaste, underwear, socks, shirts, pants).
If there is more room left, now pack everything that you essentially want but don’t need to bring along.
*Tip: Sometimes it’s best to bring back somethings earlier in the semester (such as heavy winter clothes during the Spring) so that the final ride home is less jammed.
Take everything that it packed up, and place it into the car.
Phase 4: Traveling Home
Handle any duties on your phone before driving away. (GPS, calling family, etc.).
*Tip: Download the GPS app ‘Waze’ onto your mobile device. It warns of traffic, quicker routes, and cops.
Drive home safely and swiftly following road safety regulations. *Tip: Stop as needed and do not force yourself to drive. Being safe is always the priority.
