Stage 1: Everyone is fortunate to have parents. Parents that love you, care for you and will make sure that you are safe at all times. Unfortunately, some of us are not as fortunate as others. Although everyone has two parents to come into this world, some of us fall into the category of only having one in our lives. I personally fall into this category and I believe that unless the other parent is deceased, there is no reason why one parent should raise a child on their own. I've been many stages of my life that shows how much I grew as a person and how much I've matured. There have been many obstacles in my life but it was up to me to overcome those obstacles and reach for my goals in life. My mom is the one that I was always thank because she went through everything to get food on the table for me, my brother and sister, clothes on our back, and shoes on our feet. At first it may be hard growing up without that one parent when you see others with both of their parents. But I've learned that even without my dad being in my life, I've grew up into this person that I am really proud that I've became. I wouldn't changed anything in world for my mom raising me. Without her I'm nothing and I would give the world to her if I have to. Like I stated before, it's my dad lose that he didn't step into my life at the hard times and special moments. I would never look at him the same because he didn't do anything for me in my 17 years... All I know about him is that he's my father. What I want people to understand by this is that you'll have to overcome a ton of obstacles to grow as a person and reach your goals.
