Transition for students with learning disabilities (LD) to post-secondary education and employment is a change in status from behaving primarily as a high school student to assuming emergent adult roles in the community. These roles include participating in post-secondary education, employment, maintaining a home, being appropriately involved in the community, and developing satisfactory personal and social relationships. The process of transition for students with LD for this change in status involves appropriate transition planning and services, adult agency services, and supports within the community.
