Last Spring, my girlfriend and I were driving through the country in nebraska, on our way home from my grandma's house. She was driving our brand new civic hatchback and I was almost asleep when our front tire blew. We swerved to the side of the road and hit a big oak tree.
I quickly got out of the car and opened the driver's door to see if my girlfriend wasn't hurt, thankfully she wasn't./
She immediately started calling for an ambulance and I lit a joint to try to calm myself down.
I looked at the tire and it seemed to have torn due to glass ripping my tire. I assumed it was just teenagers since this part of the country is not a bad place to have a party and maybe it got pretty wild and they smashed a few bottles.

It was a man, dressed in black and wearing a black mask. He held a knife in his hand, and he pointed it at us and started to laugh.
He started slowly walking towards us and I told my girlfriend to run for the car. In the distance the ambulance could be heard. The man stopped dead in his tracks and laughed harder.
"Saved by the sirens, lucky you." He said to me in a cold, dead voice.
He ran back into the forest and an ambulance and police car showed up at the scene.
My girlfriend went into the ambulance and I went over to see if she is okay. The officer told me about him, How he shatters glass on the road waiting for car to hit it and crash. He said there have been two reports ,both of them resulting in death. The cop said we were very lucky or else we would of died
Months have passed since then and my girlfriend still gets nightmares about this incident. As far as I know the man in the woods hasn't been caught yet.
I haven't been down that road since and I can't shake off the thoughts of what would have happened to us if the cops and ambulance hadn't shown up when they did.
