Perspective taking There are some things that are the same between the character and I and that is that we are both transgender, white, assigned female at birth, can vote, and have enough money to live but not enough to just send without thinking. There are some difference and that is that my character is a binary transgender and I am a nonbinary transgender person. It was easy for me to get into the mindset of my character because we are so similar that it was almost like my daily life was right in front of my face. Everyone would see this a character flaw and not see what situations i was put through. These are not true because my character worked hard to get those points. He did not start off with a great amount of moment and worked hard to get more money and stay alive. I pushed through this struggle and it was okay. Only looking at the total number of points you could have not seen how hard some of the decisions were very hard to make because of how stressful it would to choose between money and a healthier life when you do not have much money to begin …show more content…
When it comes to understanding racism you have to understand how even in other -ism like sexism. Racism in sexism can show how women of color are treated worst than white women. You would think that is obvious because people of color get discriminated so white women would have it easier than women of color but when people try to generalize what is wrong with sexism it then gets put into a white women’s perspective and not how women of color feel because everyone thinks that it is a ready covered by racism and there is no need to bring up their experience. This also ties into privilege and oppression within oppressed group. The women of color are oppressed even more than white
