Not washing your hands after going to the bathroom is my biggest pet peeve! Public bathrooms have thousands of germs all around, especially in the stall. It is extremely unsanitary and can take a negative impact on a person’s health to not wash away germs. By washing I mean using soap, not just water because the bubbles in the soap are what trap the germs for them to wash away. One time in the 3rd grade I did not wash my hands for about a week and a half because I wanted to see what would happen, and sure enough I got the flu.…

When referring to the case, transgender students do not have the same liberties that normal students have. Instead, they receive threats and harassment in public facilities such as bathrooms, because of their decision to change their gender identity. According to Rawls, if transgendered students do not have the same liberties as normal students, normal students do not have the authority to deprive them of their liberties on deciding which bathroom to use. Moreover, King argues that one has a moral responsibility to obey just laws and disobey unjust laws. A law to protect transgendered students such as California’s School Success and Opportunity Act (AB1266) is an example of a just law and therefore should be obeyed by…

In some states there are laws against having a transgender male or female use the bathroom that they identify with as stated by Catherine Shoichet in the recent article “North Carolina transgender law: Is it discriminatory?”, These laws are seen as discriminatory towards all transgendered people regardless of race or gender in the LGBT+ community. Activist, Candis Cox a well known transgender woman says “ This law affects us because it puts us in danger, and it's open discrimination.” , to say that she is full of ignorance is to ignore the trouble that she and over a million others are going though. This law is created to demand people to identify as a human that is on paper, a human that is documented, a human who will remain the same in the eyes of a religious filled government. Safety amongst citizens is an issue in the government as well. Most politicians against Transgendered people and rights have one same notion in mind “men should be where men are and women should be where women are.”…

As of March 23, 2016, North Carolina officially joined the reign of states that include laws that tear the population apart. In the past year, the United States has made significant progress in the fight for LGBT equality. Over the summer, we watched as the Supreme Court case Obergefell v. Hodges allowed same-sex couples in all 50 states to get legally married, and while the long-lasting battle for the legalization of same-sex marriage was won, the battle for gender identity equality was still at war. There is no federal law that prevents businesses and states from discriminating against gender identity and transgender people.…

I would say that the interpretation of misinformation comes from both the reader and the writer because the writer may inform the audience of their own viewpoint along with facts and the reader would be the one that would have their own way of interpreting the given information. Based on the the interpretation of the author as well as the viewpoint, the audience is able to have different interpretations of the given information, which can shape the outcome of the next author’s article. This statement immediately shows Thiessen’s awareness of the problems that may be caused by biological men that use women’s restrooms or changing rooms. Thiessen argues that instead of the law allowing any person to enter the gendered-facility of his/her choice, public areas should provide access to single-room bathrooms or changing-rooms that are for transgendered people. This one-person room allows a person to use whichever facility that he/she identifies with, but it also protects women and children from being exposed to someone who falsely claims the identity of a transgender. Transgender people need justice; we have the ability to take one small step in the right direction to assuring they are on their way to no longer being treated as second-class citizens, and we can take that small step by affirming this bill. "Bathroom Bias: Making the Case for Trans Rights Under Disability law” by Daniella Schmidt said how the “civil rights movements face more severe, pressing problems than bathroom access is misguided in multiple ways” (Schmidt 161). In contrast, someone who has no choice in the matter on who they are or the physical disability they possess has no impact on whether or not they decide to go into the opposite sex restroom. During the Civil Rights era, people that wasn’t physically born of Caucasian decent were denied in certain areas that was no near as an equal to facilities that have a much better quality. To add to it, the “courts see bathroom access as a "sex" issue and not a "gender" issue” meaning you are determined a male or female based on the physical genital from the time you are born.
