Transgender is a broad term that is used to refer to individuals who do not conform to the conventional and norm of male and female gender roles. These individuals do not associate with their biologically assigned sex. You aren’t able to identify ones gender identity unless you respectfully and politely ask. You should always use the pronouns the individual prefers and continue to use these even when the person isn’t around. While there have been stats of how many transgender people are in the world, we have to understand that this group of individuals is often overlooked and when this occurs the population is underserved and often times unacknowledged. Including and incorporating the transgender community nationally still remains
