When looking at both of these groups, the lobbyist and the interest groups, the fight over transgender rights and public bathrooms has become one of the presidential political debates. The United States government listens to both sides to help determine again what is best for the public sector by implementing “public policy which is the crucial decision within the political system” (). These influences within the policy are the main concern of each group.
The public interest and lobbyist stressed their concerns regarding the issue regarding Transgender bathroom debate, with great concerns for the safety and matter of privacy when “women and children” () use the restroom at the same time as a transgender person. The debate for the transgender bathroom usage angered supporters for the LBGT members stated by an Arkansas native Rita Sklar of the ACLU located here in Arkansas, "What is the problem that they 're trying to solve?" asks Rita Sklar, executive director of ACLU Arkansas. "I haven 't heard of any bathroom assault caused by transgender people."
