As mentioned, the case study previously mentioned, provides a transformative experience for tourists, specifically surfers. This is because the surfers already have a preconceived notion of how the surfing experience will be. There are numerous beaches around Australia, but the tourists in the case study have specifically chosen the Gold Coast as it provides surfing compeitions and tournaments and this can cause a memorable experience for the tourist. In addition to the transformative experience, the beaches within the Gold Coast also assist in benefiting the destination’s economy. However, without excellent markeing from the Destional Marketing Organisation (DMO), the destinaiton would not be as successful in providing transformative experiences.
