Transformational leadership and servant leadership have similarities (Yukl, 2002). Followers will feel greater trust for their leaders, greater admiration and loyalty to the community and greater levels of motivation to do well those things they are expected to do. As such, I want to teach police officers to be dedicated toward the growth and welfare of people. I want to teach police officers to motivate, guide, offer hope, and provide a caring experience by establishing a quality relationship with followers and subordinates (Choudhary et.al., 2012). Servant leaders have unselfish services towards followers high priority needs and they have unselfish regard, simplicity, and consciousness (Choudhary et.al., 2012). I want to encourage leaders growth, which in turn promotes learning in the community or organization (Bass, 2000). When this takes place, police leaders will view the needs of the citizen’s within the community, and educate and form relationships through, workshops and seminars, and this will increase the knowledge, capability of the police, and thus increase the community’s knowledge base (Choudhary et.al., 2012).
