Video games have been transformed so much thought the years. Starting from pong in the 70’s to modern day video games. As society advances so do video games and their importance in modern culture. The more complicated we make video games the more we see there is controversy around it, but that’s not the main transformation this paper will be focusing on. The transformation I see the most would be between the Nintendo 64 to the PlayStation 4 consoles. The Nintendo 64 was a stepping stone for modern day gaming such as the PlayStation 4. The Nintendo 64 controller was very unique at the time. The controller itself was shaped like an M with the middle part of the M being longer than the other two parts. The controller had a 4 foot wire attached to it along with a memory card holder on the controller in case people wanted to make their games saves there. Underneath the controller was the z button with was hidden so during shooting games the other players couldn’t see when someone was going to shoot them. Along with a directional pad the controller included something known as the C buttons. These buttons are 4 individual buttons that have the 4 directions (up, down, left, right) and are yellow. Video games are exploding at a rapid rate and as a result are becoming more and more a part of our normal lives. They bring people together weather it’s playing together in the same household or playing online with others. Both systems has their advantages however the further we go into society the more and more isolated video games will become. This is a part of evolution it cannot go both ways, the more complex and lifelike these video games become the more isolated we become. Even though the Nintendo 64 was a stepping stone for modern day gaming such as the PlayStation 4 some people prefer the older consoles and play the Nintendo 64
