Transformation Art Project

During the unit, I have been practicing many drawing techniques such as contour, gesture, line and value with a variety of different medias. I even went and learned to identify these techniques in other artist's work. While doing my transformation project, I realized that drawing and observing related. This eventually helped me very much in making my Transformation Art Project showed above. This gif is made out of a total of four drawn images. To make them, I observed my model very closely and took out as many details as I can from her face. For instance, the model has a very slim face. Her face is centered and she has a wide forehead. In addition to this I also noticed that she has thin lips and a small, yet long nose that is turned up, so it allows you to see her nostrils slightly. All of these things, I made sure to incorporate in my drawings. When drawing her, I also realized that my model looked very tired and had dark circles. By using gesture, I was able to draw her facial structure, and expression. Moreover, I also use shading to highlight and darken on certain areas to cause enhancing effects on her features. I also showed shadow and light value on the face. For the hair, however I did not using any value and instead I used simple line techniques to display her light blond hair, which I left without any shade, so it can fade into the white background. I kept the hair plain because I wanted most of my audience's attention to go to the face
