Truth through observation/ experience is learning by doing. In the movie, Mr. Keating takes the students outside and had them march in a circle as a way to teach them something.. This show Transcendentalism because he is teaching them by doing which is Truth through observation/ experience. Another main trait of Transcendentalism is Non-conformity. Non-conformity is doing your own thing and acting for yourself. In the movie, the school is having an assembly and in the middle of it Charlie Dalton question authority by asking why there is no girls at their school. Also in the play when Charlie’s teacher take the class out to march, Charlie does not march with the rest of them. This shows nonconformity did his own thing and did not march with the rest of the class and acted for himself when he question authority. In the movie Neil Perry wants to be a performer which his school and family don't approve of. Even though that is what make Neil happy his father is very against it. Later in the movie Neil's father gets very angry at him, that night Neil goes and opens the window to look out at nature. Right after, Neil goes and kills himself.
