Beliefs Of Transcendentalism

Transcendentalists believed in multiple interesting things that could possibly change people’s lives. These interesting people believed in things such as civil disobedience, nature, and self-reliance. They flourished during the 1800s in the United States of America. The songs I will be comparing Transcendentalism to are “Spring Day” by BTS, “Thunder” by EXO, “Gotta Go My Own Way” by High School Musical, and “Love Myself” by Hailee Steinfeld. Transcendentalists were very keen on the idea of appreciating nature, just like the songs “Spring Day” and “Thunder” and self-reliance like in the songs “Love Myself” and “Gotta Go My Own Way.” I have previously said the beliefs of transcendentalists, the beliefs I will be discussing are nature …show more content…
Those songs are “Spring Day” by BTS and “Thunder” by EXO. A quote that relates to nature to nature is “You were so fast like lightning, like thunder I am too late(EXO).” This group is relating their relationship to nature. They are saying that their relationship was as fast as lightning, and they were too late, like thunder, to tell their partner how they really feel. In addition, another quote that relates to nature is “Cherry blossoms are blooming, winter is ending, I miss you(BTS).” This group is relating their relationship with a friend to nature. They are saying that now that they get to see their friend again, it's like winter is ending and the flowers of spring are blooming. Transcendentalists would agree with these statements/beliefs because they are putting nature, something very important to the Transcendentalism group, to something in a real life situation. I would agree with these statements/beliefs because I also think it is important to be connected with nature. Connecting nature to something like a relationship is a good use of nature in my opinion, although we may not be physically using nature it is showing that we are appreciating it by comparing it to something good in these songs. However, this is not the only belief that I will be talking …show more content…
These songs are about the belief self-reliance. The first quote that relates to self-reliance is “I’ve got to move on and be who I am(High School Musical).” This song is a break up song, that is explaining the fact that the girl has to be alone and think about herself for once. Furthermore, it is saying she has to be who she really is and not act like a stranger anymore. Another quote I have is “feeling good on my own without(Hailee Steinfeld).” In this song she is saying that she doesn't need anyone to love her and she is better off on her own. Also saying that she has felt better than ever now that she is held down by a relationship. I think transcendentalists will agree with these statements/beliefs because they think being self-reliant is a very important trait. I would also agree with these statements/beliefs because it is better to not always have to depend on other people and you can do some things by yourself. Other people aren't always going to be there to help you out. There isn't much else to discuss, I will now conclude my essay. The group of transcendentalists strongly believed in nature and self-reliance. The group of transcendentalism was made in the 1800s in the U.S.A. They were a group of people that believed in things that are very interesting. They believed in things like appreciating nature, being self-reliant,
